How to Make Healthy Taco Salad Recipe with Creamy Taco Salad Dressing



  • 1 lb. ground beef, turkey, or chicken
  • half of a small onion, diced
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 package of your favourite taco seasoning, portioned for 1 lb. of ground meat –
  • 2 to 3 heads of romaine or 1 to 2 heads of iceberg lettuce, chopped into bite-size pieces
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 3 c. halved cherry tomatoes or chopped Roma tomatoes
  • 2 to 3 c. shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • Doritos nacho cheese flavoured tortilla chips, for scooping up the salad and/or for crushing over the salad.

  • In a large salad bowl, add all ingredients together, with or without the taco salad dressing mixed in. Note (To avoid wet chips, be sure to wait until you are ready to eat to toss the ingredients together).

In an extensive skillet over medium to medium-high heat, brown the ground meat and onion. When meat is about mostly cooked, include the garlic. When meat is sautéed and onion is softened, take out any surplus fat from the skillet.

Then sprinkle taco flavoring over the blend and hurl to coat uniformly. Add 1/3 cup of water and let blend stew over medium heat until water is dissolved. Remove pan from heat. In a small to medium sized bowl, mix all ingredients together. Serve with taco salad. Store in covered container in refrigerator for a couple weeks.
